Jeff Conroy

Managing Director


Mr. Conroy has over 18 years of experience in biotechnology business development and commercialization strategy. Much of his recent work has been in transaction advisory services and alliance development, including in-licensing, partnering, and asset sale engagements for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device clients.

Prior to launching Adjuvant Global Advisors with Ravi Kiron and Morrie Ruffin, Mr. Conroy founded Adjuvant Inc., a strategic advisory and business development consulting firm established in 2000. His corporate experience includes Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Dynex Technologies, a division of Thermo Electron, and sales and marketing positions at TSI Corporation and Abbott Laboratories.

Mr. Conroy is also the Managing Director of Windward Investments, LLC, a private investment company. He serves on the Boards of Innovative Biologics, Inc., and CryoBioPhysica, Inc. Mr. Conroy holds a BS in Finance from Providence College.

Ravi Kiron, PhD, MBA

Managing Director

Dr. Kiron has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and is well versed in all aspects of drug discovery, delivery, pre-clinical and early clinical drug development, bioinformatics and database management investment due-diligence, and alliance management.

Prior to joining Adjuvant Global Advisors, Dr. Kiron was the Chief Operating Officer at LifeTech Innovations, LLC, a Business Development and Strategic Advisory consulting firm. Before LTI, he was the Executive Director for New Technology Assessment and Planning at Johnson & Johnson / ALZA Corporation. Responsibilities included: drug delivery technology & research strategy and planning, in- and out- licensing, M&A and intellectual property management. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, he spent 13 years with Pfizer Global R&D, culminating with the position of Global Head, Strategic Analysis & Knowledge Management, in the Strategic Alliances Department. While at Pfizer, he was a primary architect or key team member on many US and non-US based partnerships and deal transactions, and a member of the acquisition/integration team for Pfizer's purchase of Warner-Lambert and Pharmacia Corporation, and performed due diligence on a number of biotech M&A opportunities. Dr. Kiron obtained experience in exploratory drug development as the project champion at Pfizer that led to the IND filing of Tarceva®, now in widespread use for the treatment of multiple malignancies. He also led drug discovery research teams in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, working on hypertension, congestive heart failure and ischemia-reperfusion injuries.

Prior to his tenure at Pfizer, Dr. Kiron was a biochemistry and medicine faculty member at Cornell University Medical Center in New York. He holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Microbiology from Bombay University, India. He also earned a PhD in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India and an MBA from Rensselaer in Hartford, Connecticut.

Edmund "Morrie" Ruffin, MA

Managing Director

Morrie has 17 years of experience in the Biotech and Healthcare industries. Prior to joining Adjuvant Global Advisors, he was the Chief Executive Officer of LifeTech Innovations, LLC a Business Development and Strategic Advisory consulting firm based in Bethesda, MD. Prior to his position at LTI, Mr. Ruffin was Executive Vice President of Capital Formation and Business Development at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the largest trade organization representing the biotech and drug development industries. Joining BIO in 1994 as one of its original employees, Mr. Ruffin was responsible for building the organization's global business development and investor outreach programs focused on helping companies raise capital and identify strategic partnering and licensing opportunities. This BIO business development franchise is now the largest in the world, with operations in the US, Europe, and Japan.

In addition to his business development work at BIO, Mr. Ruffin was responsible for leading the industry's capital formation advocacy efforts with a particular focus on economic incentives to promote investment in early stage biotech and med-tech businesses. He is a regular speaker at industry events and has participated in countless media interviews commenting on business topics and trends in the drug development industry. Mr. Ruffin was a founder and board member of the Interoperable Informatics Infrastructure Consortium (I3C), an international standards setting body for the bioinformatics industry.

Prior to joining BIO, Mr. Ruffin worked for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter for five years as his senior legislative assistant. Prior to that, he spent approximately five years working in varying capacities, including policy analyst, at Systems Planning Corporation International and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Mr. Ruffin received his MA in International Studies & Economics from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and his BA from the University of Virginia.
